Core Values

Christ Red

Live with Christ at the Center

We seek to know Jesus Christ and to be led by His Word and Spirit. We recognize Jesus as the King of all creation; this reality gives meaning and purpose to everything we do. We ground ourselves in the hope of the Gospel as expressed in the Holy Scriptures and in the historic Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed. We pursue Christian maturity through personal and corporate practice of the spiritual disciplines. We extend hospitality and welcome each person in the name of Jesus. We desire that all of our students come to know, trust, and love Jesus Christ as God and Savior.

Personhood Red

Honor the Personhood of all Children

We recognize and celebrate that each child is made in the image of God. It is our responsibility and joy to honor the dignity of each person. We believe in the potential of every child; we value and honor the culture, history, and family of each student and staff member. God has brought us together from various cultural, socioeconomic, denominational, and educational backgrounds; we thank God for and delight in the diversity of our community. Together, we bear witness to God’s love for all people.

Restore Red

Restore Relationships with Love and Truth

We intentionally build relationships between our students, families, and staff; we genuinely want to know one another. We pursue each other and assume the best. We are committed to repairing relationships when they are broken. We believe that parents are an essential part of the Logos Academy community and we value each person’s involvement. Logos Academy strives to shine the light of Christ by being a good neighbor to our broader community.

Renewal Red

Learn for a Life of Renewal

We cultivate students in the classical tradition of education to become people of wisdom, grace, and virtue in service to God’s Kingdom. This time-tested approach to human formation looks to the past to help us find our way in the present. We delight in the goodness of creation and approach our work with wonder and humility. We aspire to love the truth, treasure beauty, and enact goodness. We believe that the liberal arts are tools for learning, which ennoble and liberate. We seek to master the verbal and mathematical arts, employing the power and beauty of language and the order and majesty of numbers in our learning and work. Jesus commands us to love our neighbors and to seek the peace and prosperity of our city; we seek to be faithful with what God has entrusted to us.

Our History

In 1998, two women with no formal background in education were moved by their faith in Christ to start a school where every student could receive an excellent education, regardless of their family’s income.

Today, Logos Academy, an independent school accredited by the Middle States Association, serves over 220 students in grades K-12. Two-thirds of these students live at or near the federal poverty line. Without the aid of government funding, generous donors give scholarships to make it possible for students who normally would not be able to afford tuition at Logos Academy to attend at just a fraction of the price. Everybody pays something to attend.

The results speak for themselves. Students from across the economic and cultural spectrum succeed at Logos Academy and go on to a meaningful future professionally, academically, and spiritually.
